Family Friendly Programming at the Reilly Bird Nature Reserve
July 23rd, 2016
Join us for a full day of family friendly programming at the Reilly Bird Nature Reserve Saturday July 23rd from 10am-3pm in Deep River Ontario!
This event is free of charge and open to people of all ages!
10am – 12pm: Sleuthing for Salamanders
Last fall we laid down cover boards as part of an ongoing monitoring project to track salamander populations. After overwintering, we’re hoping many salamanders have set up shop underneath! Become a citizen scientist by helping us flip boards and record species.
12pm – 1pm: Join us for a free lunch. Come meet your fellow neighbours, and enjoy lunch on us. There will be crafts and games for kids.
1pm – 3pm: Guided Nature Hike and Pollinator Monitoring
Spend the afternoon exploring the trails on the property and helping us look for pollinator species. With pollinators in decline, we want to find out what species use the reserve, and what habitat can be found here for bees and butterflies. We’ll also teach you how to make your own home garden more pollinator-friendly.
