Miller Waste can be contacted for the Replacement of Bins, Missed Collections as well as any other recycling questions. Email: area3@millerwaste.ca The Ontario Blue Box Regulation under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 designates Blue Box materials, including packaging-like and paper products, under Ontario’s new regulatory framework for resource recovery. The regulation makes producers fully accountable and financially responsible for their products and packaging once they reach their end of life and are disposed; sets mandatory and enforceable requirements for Blue Box collection systems; and gives producers choices for resource recovery services in a competitive market. Effective July 1, 2023, municipalities and First Nation communities started transitioning their Blue Box programs to the new framework and Blue Box producers became fully accountable and financially responsible for collecting and recycling their material when consumers discard them. The Town of Laurentian Hills will transition to the new program on July 15, 2025, and will no longer be responsible for providing a recycling program. Recycling pick ups will continue under the new program.
