Recycling has become the most effective way to reduce the amount of garbage going to our landfill sites. Council is committed to improving the waste diversion activities in Laurentian Hills to prolong the life of our landfill site. The more we can recycle, the better for the environment and our wallets.
Beaumen Waste Management Systems Limited is the recycling contractor for the Town of Laurentian Hills. Pick-ups are every second Wednesday and both recycling materials will be picked up the same day. Be sure that your recycling containers are no larger than 18" x 20" x 21". Larger garbage can style bins will not be picked up.
Recycling items should be put in a blue or yellow recycling box and must be set out at curbside no later than 7:30 a.m. Yellow boxes are for fibers/paper. Blue boxes are for plastics, cans, plastic bags, aluminum etc.
Garbage pick-up in Laurentian Hills is collected weekly by P&G Pumping. The pick-up is Tuesdays (west end of Town) and Fridays (east end of Town). Garbage pickup for Chalk River is on Friday’s and everywhere else including Mountain View subdivision and Gutzman Road is on Tuesdays. If you are a seasonal resident, please contact the Town when you arrive so we can inform the contractor and your garbage won't be missed. The Waste Disposal Site is open five days a week for bulk items. Garbage is to be out by 7 a.m.
