OUR SERVICES

The North Renfrew Landfill offers a varienty of services to ensure anything that enters the Landfill is being property disposed or or reused.

WHAT THE LANDFILL WILL ACCEPT
Any questions regarding what is acceptable to be dropped off at the Landfill please contact the Office at 613-584-3114.

CHANGES to RECYCLING
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2025 the Baggs Road Depot will no longer accept recycling materials.  This decision aligns with Ontario Regulation 392/21.  Curbside collection reminder: Ensure recyclable items are placed curbside by 7 am on your scheduled collection day. Other landfill services including reuse, e-waste, and hazardous materials will remain available.

GARBAGE (household waste) 
Any household waste that would be collected during weekly garbage collection.   

RE-USE
Any items still in good condition that someone else may find use of.

BRUSH/YARD WASTE
Brush, small tree limbs/branches, grass cuttings, leaves and compostable yard waste are accepted and turned into compost. After an analysis that indicates that it meets provincial standards it is available for residents to load and haul at no charge. 

TIRES
Tires on and off rims are accepted and collected by a third party tire hauler from further processing and recycling.

SCRAP METAL
Scrap metal is collected by a local scrap metal recycling company for further processing.

BULKY MATERIALS ($10 per item)
Bulky Materials such as mattresses, couches or upholstered arm chairs. 

ELECTRONICS and ELECTRICAL WASTE
Electronics are collected by a local Battery Collection processor, valuable metals can be recovered and used into new products such as silverware, pots and pans, new batteries, and even golf clubs


Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) acceptable materials include:

  • Lead/acid batteries
  • paints in containers up to 30 L
  • propane tanksmotor oil
  • hydraulic fluids including transmission fluid
  • engine antifreeze/glycol
  • appliances containing refrigerant
  • rechargeable and single use dry cell batteries
  • gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, methanol and other flammable liquids
  • soaps/detergents
  • fertilizers, pesticides & herbicides
  • acids, alkaline materials, organic/inorganic chemicals, aerosols
  • fluorescent light tubes and compact fluorescent spiral bulbs
